How I Aborted Sarkodie's Pregnancy in 2010 - Yvonne Nelson

Yvonne Nelson, an award-winning Ghanaian actress, has revealed that she had an abortion for rapper Sarkodie in 2010 after a brief relationship.

On Sunday, Yvonne announced the release of her new book, “I am not Yvonne Nelson,” at Peduase Lodge in Ghana.

On pages 88-95 of her new book’s chapter eight, the actress described the alleged abortion.

“I went for a pregnancy test to confirm what becomes the most obvious conclusion for a sexually active young woman who misses her monthly flow,” Yvonne wrote. Karen was with me at the time.

“And when the test results were ready, I didn’t have the strength to open it.” She did so and announced the verdict. ‘Charlie, it’s right there!’ she exclaimed.

“On a normal day, I would have laughed out loud, which would have triggered a series of amusing conversations and jokes.” However, this was no laughing matter. It was a bleak piece of information that had the potential to turn my world upside down.

“I realised I wasn’t the only one to blame for the situation, so I contacted the man whose potent seed had germinated in me.” Michael Owusu Addo, better known as Sarkodie, is a well-known Ghanaian musician.

“I wouldn’t call what had developed between us a serious relationship,” Yvonne said of her relationship with the rapper. “I was drawn to people in the music industry.”

Yvonne described in the book how she attempted to abort the pregnancy by taking concoctions from a colleague, but the substance did not work because a test revealed she was still pregnant.

The actress went on to say that while she eventually succeeded in terminating the pregnancy, it was one of the most regrettable mistakes of her life.

She went on to say that if the clock of life could be turned back to her younger self, she would have kept it.
