Luka Modric declines the “largest pay” in history in order to remain with Real Madrid

One of the largest pay offers in football history was turned down by Luka Modric in order to stay at Real Madrid.

Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer analyst, made this known in a tweet on Monday.

“Understand Luka Modri received one of the largest wage bids in sport from Saudi,” he tweeted.

He made the respectful decision to reject the offer.

“There is only one explanation: he wants to compete, battle, and triumph once more at the club of his dreams, Real Madrid. Modrić, 2024.”

Modric will remain with the La Liga powerhouses through 30 June 2024 according to a contract extension that Real Madrid already announced.

In 2012, Modric moved to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur and has since established himself as a club legend.
