Mbappe: I deserve to win the 2023 Ballon d’Or
Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain believes he is deserving of the prestigious Ballon d’Or trophy for the year.
Despite a fantastic year for Lionel Messi and Manchester City custodian Erling Haaland, the France international believes he has met the criteria for the accolade this year.
Recall Mbappe led the French national team to the FIFA World Cup final, where he scored a hat-trick against Argentina before losing on penalties.
Aside from a silver medal, the Frenchman was awarded the Golden Boot for his inspirational effort.

Mbappe returned to PSG, where he helped the team win the Ligue 1 title.
Kylian Mbappe told French television network TF1 that his prospects of winning the Ballon d’Or are good.
“What is the Ballon d’Or?” “Talking about an individual trophy is always difficult because you have to push yourself forward,” he explained.
“Do I deserve to win the Ballon d’Or?” What is important under the new criteria? Getting noticed, scoring goals, and creating an impression? I believe I meet those requirements. I’d say yeah, but people vote, and I’m always optimistic.”
In the recently finished 2022-23 season, the 23-year-old scored 41 goals and assisted on 10 others in 40 games for PSG.
