AMP @25, Movie Producers Celebrates The Founding Father’s

The founding fathers of Nollywood’s principal guild, the Association of Movie Producers Nigeria (AMP), have been picked out for special recognition and gratitude, according to Fabenmedia Nigeria.

This is in commemoration of their 25th wedding anniversary, which is set for September 6, 2021. The organization has come a long way in the last 25 years, according to the association’s president, Ms. Peace Anyiam Osigwe MFR, and the efforts of these founding fathers cannot be emphasized. “We cannot forget the labor of love and sacrifice of these famous pioneers of our guild (both deceased and alive),” she says, “that led to the registration of AMP on September 6, 1996.” For example, late Amaka Igwe, Eddie Ugwoma, Olorogun Zeb Ejiro MON, Joe Dudun, and others. We owe a debt of gratitude to them and many others who were important in the organization’s early development for the seeds planted by these exceptional Nigerians 25 years ago.

The association has truly evolved, with local and international alliances, partnerships, and recognition, with over 80% of active movie producers in Nigeria being registered under its umbrella. We will present a night of honor as part of our 25th anniversary festivities to recognize a filmmaker, a man who has given AMP his time, money, and love for the past 15 years and has been a patron of our organization. Andy Boyo, AMP’s longest-serving Patron, will be honored on October 17th, and the AMP Creative Cooperative will be founded.

The Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Nigeria is the umbrella body for all movie producers in Nigeria’s Nollywood. The 25th Anniversary will be celebrated in May of next year, and among other activities, we will ensure that these founding fathers are immortalized in the annals of Nollywood’s history.”
