why women in Nollywood tend to be more successful- Linda Osifo
Fabenmedia reports that in a recent discussion with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Rubbin’ Minds, Osifo discussed ambassadorial arrangements and the opportunity that women have to represent a wider range of businesses than men.
Ambassadorial engagements pay better for actresses, according to the actress.
As a woman compared to a man I have more options to get more jobs than a man. I can advertise hair, wigs, shoes and a wide range of clothes from brands which most men cannot. The ratio of men to women is 1:3 which makes the market wider for us,” Osifo said.
I’ve become a brand ambassador to skincare brands and that’s an industry that men don’t dominate and conquer so this is how women are more successful. Women have more opportunities to make money.”
Linda Osifo claim comes amid speculation that actresses use shady methods to fund their extravagant lifestyles because the industry isn’t as lucrative as it once was. Actresses such as Toyin Abraham have attempted to debunk the myth.
In February, Abraham revealed on Instagram that some actresses charge as much as five million Naira to appear in movies.
