Ibidunni Ighodalo: I love you says Pastor Ituah **I’ll always be Mummy’s Girl – Keke

“Ibidunni, I love you…”
Those were Pastor Ituah Ighodalo’s words as he joined the Trinity Voices to honour his wife. It was a mixture of emotions and feelings as the final home-going service for late philanthropist and foremost events planner, Ibidunni Olajumoke Ighodalo held in Lagos today. She died at the age of 39 on June 14th and would have turned 40 on July 19th.   In a televised service as monitored by our correspondents, family, friends and associates paid their last respects to a woman who has been described as an epitome of beauty, humility, dedication to duty.


One of the readings at the service from Psalm 112 was taken by the deceased’s  daughter, Keke Ighodalo. At the event, solemn hymns rent the air.Owing to the Covid 19 Pandemic, physical distancing was visibly observed at the venue. Hence, others could watch online.  It will be recalled that a Night of Tributes held yesterday where the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN); Minister of Works, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN); Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola among other Diginitaries paid glowing tributes to her memory virtually. Those who had earlier paid a condolence visit to Pastor Ighodalo include Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; Chairman, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote among others. Rendering a special number at the service, her daughter, Keke stated,” I”ll  always be Mummy’s Girl.” Thereafter, she sang a duet  “Onise Iyanu” with popular Gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey which brought a flurry of emotions to those physically present.

 The Trinity Voices also rendered special numbers including “Ijoba Orun lere onigbagbo”(Heaven is the reward  of believers)   At this juncture, her widower, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo joined the Trinity Voices on stage and ministered along with them with songs  such as “How Great Thy Art” and he added, “Ibidunni,I love you” In his homily, one of the officiating pastors, offered words of comfort to the family of the deceased and prayed for comfort for her widower, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo. Describing the late Ibidunni Ighodalo as God’s General, he urged him to obey God concerning his children and his late wife’s foundation.  Gospel Artiste,Tim Godfrey also ministered at the service,singing “Narekelemo”Thereafter, prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased’s soul as well as for her families on the Olaleye-Ajayi and Ighodalo sides by Pastor Idowu-Iluyomade.  At the end of the service, her body departed for its final resting place.
